Prospectors’ Days, June 7-9 2013
Brought to you by the Republic Chamber of Commerce, sponsored by Kinross Gold Corporation!
Prospectors’ Days is a production of the Republic Chamber of Commerce. Please visit the Chamber site for more information about what we do. Kinross provided extremely generous funding to allow us to build up our festival.
56 years of Tradition
The Can-Can Girls and Prospector Willy welcome you to the 56th annual Prospectors’ Days! Join us in Republic, Washington for a fun-filled weekend that celebrates the town’s heritage. Nestled in the heart of National Forest and some of the most scenic and rugged country in the state, Republic makes a great getaway destination. Prospectors’ Days is the perfect reason to take a rockin’ roadtrip to Republic, just 2.5 hours northwest of Spokane.
Republic is one of the oldest gold mining towns in Washington. Founders originally named our community Eureka Gulch, later changing the name to Republic. You may travel Highway 20 over 5,575 foot Sherman Pass (one of Washington’s designated scenic byways), cross Lake Roosevelt on the Keller Ferry, or come over Wauconda Pass from the west. The views are breathtaking any way you choose.
And Something New…
This year the carnival returns after many years of absence! Location and other details will be forthcoming soon.
We will also bring you a Sunday softball tournament, in addition to all of our regular events. See the softball tournament page for details.
Les Folles Jambettes Cancan Dancers from Grand Forks will perform twice on stage in the park on Saturday, as well as participating in the parade.
Amazing Music in the Park
Friday and Saturday the stage in the park will showcase a powerful lineup. Performers include Junkyard Jane, Vaughn Jensen, and Sammy Eubanks! Look for a complete lineup and schedule soon.
The Shuttle Returns
For the second year, we will offer free parking at the school and a shuttle bus through town on Saturday. Each circuit of the bus should take about fifteen minutes. It will make multiple stops to allow for people to easily move between events, and to get to and from their cars. Saturday morning it will also travel to the hospital as needed to drop off parade participants.
This service is meant to reduce parking and traffic problems in town, and to make the event more accessible to all. Please make use of the shuttle, and plan to park at the school. Together we can make downtown Republic less-congested, safer, and more pleasant for everyone at Prospectors’ Days.
The shuttle is made possible by sponsorship from the Ferry County PUD.
Activities for Everyone
Rush to Republic for three days of tradition, celebration and new adventures. Bring the whole family to pan for gold… real gold! Register your team for the 3 on 3 basketball tournament.
